If it is your first appointment it will be for 90 minutes, in order for a complete evaluation.
After a thorough history, your therapist will do a structural evaluation and then discuss with you a treatment plan. Most following appointments are for 60 minutes, unless you specify otherwise.
The appointment time is for all of the above, not just table time.
Sometimes people ask for a 30 minute session, as they might do at a spa.
At HOPE Wellness Institute, one of the things we find is “so many muscles, so little time”. Because we primarily work with “issues in your tissues” we like to do a thorough job. It takes time.
What to wear during your treatment is a concern for many.
Some leave all their clothes on, others may choose shorts and a sports bra, or a swim suit, underware is fine too, and others choose to completely undress. You will always be covered with a sheet, and properly draped.
If you are coming in for therapeutic or neuromuscular massage, it is helpful that you dress in soft clothing like thin sweats or shorts and a t-shirt. When your therapist does a structural evaluation you are clothed; thinner clothing makes it easier for us to feel bones and make the needed measurements.
